Welcome to my Mac News.
(See the Blog for WWDC '06 coverage.)
I've used Macs since I bought my Fat Mac on 12/10/1984. Why
have I continued to use Macs since then? I'd rather get
work done than fix computers, apply endless patches, and I
detest poor user interface design.
I could use just about anything I want. I used to
administer Unix systems and ran a successful computer
consulting firm for almost ten years.
I run the Information Technology operations for a financial
organization. That's not a Mac-based operation because the
software in the financial industry is so Windows-based.
Anyone who has tried to maintain large computer
installations knows that a large installation of Macs is
much easier and less expensive to maintain, but that's not
helpful if you can't run your key, mission-critical
software.
Fortunately, Apple's switch to Intel based Macs may be
creating opportunities in businesses where once Macs were
not considered.
I'll keep you posted.
